Brian J. Allen, 62, of DeKalb, Illinois passed away Sunday, May 23, 2021.

He was born August 13, 1958 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Patrick and Judith (Tyskling) Allen. Brian married Susan P. Bechdolt on July 21, 1984 at the Newman Center in DeKalb.

Brian was a dedicated Boy Scout leader for Troop 4, and he treasured the friendships and memories made throughout his years in the troop. He was dedicated to his job as the auditorium manager for the DeKalb school district, and truly enjoyed working with the staff and students. Previously, he held an Illinois journeyman’s electricians license and worked as an electrician for many years. Brian graduated from Harvard St. George School in Kenwood where his mother was vice principal. He was a 1976 graduate of Kenwood High School, where his father, the late Patrick Allen, was one of the assistant principals. He received his Associate’s Degree in electrical engineering from Joliet Junior College. Brian loved his family and will be missed dearly.

He is survived by his wife Sue, sons Matthew, Bradley, Christopher, Nathan and Benjamin, mother Judith Allen, brother Shawn M. (Cynthia) Allen and their children, Isabelle W. and Russell W. Allen, his sister Lisa Allen (Joshua Cohen) and their children Eli P. Cohen and Asher M. Cohen.

He was preceded in death by his father Patrick R. Allen.
